A series of recipe illustrations created for Yishan Kids to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. The project grew from a small pun in Chinese: "round food" (圆形食物) and "whole food" (原型食物) share the same pronunciation, yuánxíng. Taking this as a starting point, I built each composition around two familiar circles of the season, the full moon and the bowl, drawing each serving bowl as a moon that holds the dish.The five recipes, in order:
