Let’s Play is a series of illustrations exploring the playful intersection of food and music. The idea was inspired by my partner, who is both a percussionist and a devoted foodie. I remember the day he brought home two new cymbals, striking them over and over to admire their grand, resonant sound—while all I could think was, “Wouldn’t it be better if those cymbals were burgers?”

The illustration Perform from this series was selected for the Society of Illustrators 67 exhibition. Congratulations to the orchestra!

A series of recipe illustrations created for Yishan Kids to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. The project grew from a small pun in Chinese: "round food" (圆形食物) and "whole food" (原型食物) share the same pronunciation, yuánxíng. Taking this as a starting point, I built each composition around two familiar circles of the season, the full moon and the bowl, drawing each serving bowl as a moon that holds the dish. The five recipes, in order:

  1. Pumpkin Mooncakes
  2. Pomegranate & Edamame Salad
  3. Miso-Roasted Lotus Root
  4. Green Sichuan Pepper Apple Chicken
  5. Mushroom & Chestnut Brown Rice

Your intelligence is set in childhood.
Teens only need 7 to 8 hours of sleep, like adults.
Teens stay up late and sleep in because they're lazy or rebellious.
Girls shoot up in grades 6 to 7, boys in grades 8 to 9.
Stretching and hanging from a bar can make you taller.
Girls stop growing once their periods start.
Shaved hair grows back thicker and darker.
Strength training stunts your growth.
